Description

Mount Zero Pearled Farro

Mount Zero Pearled Farro is an ancient grain that has been lightly processed to remove its bran, allowing for quicker cooking while still retaining a satisfyingly chewy texture and nutty flavour. The pearling process makes it ideal for creating farrotto – a risotto-style dish – in significantly less time than traditional risotto rice.

Cooking Instructions
No pre-soaking is required. Simply:

Rinse

Add to cold, salted water

Bring to the boil

Simmer until desired tenderness is reached – from chewy to soft depending on preference

Alternatively, farro can be prepared in a pressure cooker or rice cooker, offering versatility across both modern and traditional kitchens.

Serving Suggestions
A wonderfully adaptable grain, Mount Zero Pearled Farro is perfect in:

Summer salads

Winter soups and casseroles

Antipasti dishes

Even in sweet preparations

Contains gluten

Sustainability in Packaging
Mount Zero’s pulses and grains retail range is presented in 100% compostable bags made from plant-based materials. This innovative packaging avoids petrochemicals and breaks down into non-toxic matter that is safe for the environment and soil life, including earthworms – packaging that returns to nature.
