Furikake - Ume and Sesame - 200g
Description
Furikake – Ume and Sesame – 200g
Blended exclusively by sesame master Takehiro Wada of Wadaman, this Ume and Sesame Furikake delivers a perfect balance of crunch, nuttiness, saltiness, and tartness. The combination of black and white sesame seeds, freeze-dried Japanese pickled plum (umeboshi), shoyu, salt, and aosa seaweed creates a furikake with vibrant colour, complex flavour, and an enticing texture.
Traditionally used as a garnish for rice, this furikake is incredibly versatile. Try it as a Japanese-inspired dukkah, paired with bread and butter or extra virgin olive oil, or use it as a flavourful coating for fresh goat’s chèvre. Its unique mix of nutty sesame, umami-rich seaweed, and bright umeboshi tartness makes it a standout ingredient in any dish.

About the Producer
Wadaman Co., Ltd. is a fifth-generation, family-owned company dedicated to producing exceptional sesame products since 1883. Founded in Osaka, Japan, Wadaman has grown from a small sesame merchant into a globally recognised artisan roastery, renowned for its meticulous sourcing, traditional roasting techniques, and uncompromising commitment to quality.
For over 140 years, Wadaman has upheld the craft of sesame roasting, refining its methods across generations to perfect the balance of aroma, flavour, and texture. The company’s signature low-high-low roasting technique—similar to coffee roasting—draws out the deepest nuances of each sesame seed, a method praised by leading chefs and food experts worldwide.
Under the leadership of Takehiro Wada, the fifth-generation master roaster, Wadaman has expanded its influence beyond Japan. Wadaman shares a close relationship with Fino Foods, with Fino’s founder having visited and travelled through Japan many times with Takehiro Wada. Our shared passion for food has fostered a deep connection between Japanese and Australian culinary traditions. As a guest of Fino Foods, Takehiro has also visited Australia, working alongside top Australian chefs to showcase the depth, complexity, and versatility of Wadaman’s sesame products.
