Founded by Gerardo Lopez and Diana Hull, the company was born from their passion for sharing genuine Mexican flavours with the Australian market.

Gerardo, a Mexico City native, moved to Australia and saw the need for real Mexican food, leading him to co-found La Tortilleria. He is also an adventurer and culinary storyteller, having summited Mount Everest and hosted a six-part television series on Mexican cuisine. Diana, with a background in anthropology, discovered the art of nixtamal tortilla-making while studying in Mexico. She is passionate about sustainable food systems and preserving culinary heritage.

Together, they built La Tortilleria into a brand that is now recognised for its commitment to authenticity, quality, and craftsmanship.
