Black Sheep Produce’s Caper Leaves are a premium, hand-harvested product from their family-run farm in South Australia’s Riverland region. These leaves are carefully picked early, with some of the stem attached, ensuring that the entire leaf and stem are edible. With a smooth, velvety texture and delicate mustard-like notes, these caper leaves offer a unique flavour profile that enhances a variety of dishes.
Much like caper buds, caper leaves can be used in salads, with cured and smoked fish, antipasto, risottos, and more. Their mildly tangy and slightly salty character pairs beautifully with fresh cheeses, roasted vegetables, and Mediterranean-style dishes.
Please note: Caper leaves, like capers, contain quercetin and rutin, which may appear as small white spots when salted. Due to their limited seasonal availability, they are a sought-after speciality ingredient.
