The Tarwin Blue is handcrafted in Gippsland and named after the local river. It is made from fresh cow’s milk, it has a rich, buttery paste beneath a natural rind, threaded with distinctive green-blue veining. After around two months of maturation, the texture becomes creamy and supple, delivering subtle earthy notes, gentle spice, and a long, balanced finish.

About the Producer

Berrys Creek Gourmet Cheese was founded in 2007 by master cheesemaker Barry Charlton and his partner Cheryl Hulls in Fish Creek, South Gippsland. With more than 40 years of experience, Barry is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading blue cheese specialists. The business was built to reflect their family heritage and strong connection to place.

Milk is sourced locally, including cow’s milk from nearby dairies and buffalo milk from a single herd raised by the Jans family. This commitment to local sourcing ensures freshness, consistency, and a clear expression of place.
