Description

Mount Zero French Style Green Lentils

Also known as Puy lentils, these distinctive green lentils originate from the French region of Le Puy, but Mount Zero sources theirs a little closer to home—from the rich, self-mulching soils of the Wimmera, in Western Victoria.

The Wimmera's long, cold winters and hot, dry summers create ideal growing conditions for this variety, which is prized for its:

Nutty flavour

Thin skin

Firm texture

Ease of cooking

A classic chef favourite, French style green lentils form the foundation of many salads and soups, and pair especially well with feta, chèvre, mint, peas, tomatoes, and game meats.

Cooking Instructions
Rinse lentils thoroughly. Add 1 cup (250g) lentils to 3 cups (750ml) water in a saucepan.
Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until just cooked.

Allergen Advice

May contain traces of gluten

Sustainability in Packaging
Now packed in next-generation home-compostable pouches, Mount Zero’s grains and pulses are aligned with their goal to reduce waste and enhance eco-efficiency.
