Unlike flour tortillas, which often contain preservatives, gums, and artificial additives to extend shelf life, La Tortilleria’s nixtamal tortillas are made using just corn, water, and lime (calcium hydroxide)—delivering a pure, clean taste without unnecessary ingredients. Their rich, toasted corn flavour and firm texture make them the best way to offer an authentic, delicious, and wholesome experience to customers, enhancing the quality of any dish they’re used in.

About the Producer

La Tortilleria is an Australian producer dedicated to authentic Mexican tortillas and corn-based products, crafted using traditional techniques that honour centuries-old food traditions. Founded by Gerardo Lopez and Diana Hull, the company was born from their passion for sharing genuine Mexican flavours with the Australian market.

Gerardo, a Mexico City native, moved to Australia and saw the need for real Mexican food, leading him to co-found La Tortilleria. He is also an adventurer and culinary storyteller, having summited Mount Everest and hosted a six-part television series on Mexican cuisine. Diana, with a background in anthropology, discovered the art of nixtamal tortilla-making while studying in Mexico. She is passionate about sustainable food systems and preserving culinary heritage.

Together, they built La Tortilleria into a brand that is now recognised for its commitment to authenticity, quality, and craftsmanship. Their products provide chefs, restaurants, and foodservice operators with an opportunity to serve premium, restaurant-quality Mexican food, elevating menus with true, traditional flavours.
